About the Event
Looking for a break from the sun and the crowds during our 2026 Take to the Lake event? Join the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership for a guided and interactive family-friendly hike around Lower Lake!
As we explore the brook and its surrounding habitats, you’ll discover the incredible diversity of plants and wildlife that call the Doan Brook home. Along the way, we’ll identify native aquatic and terrestrial species, discuss the important roles they play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem, and learn how they contribute to clean water, wildlife habitat, and the overall health of the brook.
Whether you’re a seasoned nature enthusiast or simply curious about the water around you, this hike offers a unique opportunity to experience the watershed in a new way. Come connect with nature, ask questions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the plants, animals, and ecological processes that make the Doan Brook such an important part of our community.
Where to meet
We will meet for our hike at the Doan Brook Habitat table on the west side of Brook Rd.

What to Bring
Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We will be walking on a combination of paved, mulched, and gravel paths for approximately 1 mile around the lake. A water bottle and snacks are recommended for your comfort. The hike will involve frequent breaks where we will identify and discuss the roles of plants and animals in and around the brook.

Parking is available on South Park Boulevard.
