Explore the Doan Brook with Hikes and Bike Rides

All throughout the Doan Brook there are beautiful natural spaces for hiking and biking. Enjoy a nice stroll around Horseshoe Lake or Lower Lake, through the Doan Brook Gorge, or through Rockefeller Park and the Cultural Gardens. Whether you are hiking alone, with friends, or with family, it’s a great way to get out and enjoy nature. These paths are all free and open to the public.

In addition, we routinely offer educational walks in the watershed, led by Dr. Roy Larrick. In these walks, he covers the history, geology, and ecology of the area and the environmental changes and what causes these changes in our watershed. These hikes are posted on our events page here

Hikers walk along the Doan Brook gorge for the 2020 Photo Hike.

Bike the Watershed

To end the summer and welcome fall, we offer a Bike the Watershed event. Bikers follow the path of the brook through downtown Cleveland. Key stops on this ride are at Gordon Park, Sowinski Park, Rockefeller Lagoon, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and Stone Monetessori/MR White Community/School. This event is hosted in collaboration with Bike Cleveland.
